Recorded Music NZ is the kaitiaki and host of the Aotearoa Music Awards, New Zealand’s longest running awards show with a 57 year history.

As we announced in June when we opened nominations for 2022, this year we have paused the annual awards ceremony to give us time and space to reflect and take a hard look at the awards and the event that delivers them.

To help us in doing this, we want to hear from you. We are keen to hear your thoughts, views feelings and feedback on the Aotearoa Music Awards – what does it mean to you, what is most important and what might need to evolve and change.

This isn’t just about the event itself.  We want to understand what else is important to you about the awards.  It could be the publicity, the recognition from your peers, the television broadcast or the social media content that gets created.

We value your feedback and so the survey also includes a few questions on Recorded Music NZ’s other activities including the Official NZ Music Charts.

In addition to the online survey, we are working with an external consultant to conduct interviews with a cross-section of recording artists, right holders and industry representatives.

We appreciate that the online survey format may not suit everyone.  If you would like to give feedback in a different way or you have any other questions about the process, please don’t hesitate to contact us on feedback@recordedmusic.co.nz.

We look forward to hearing your views as we reflect on the Aotearoa Music Awards.  We hope as many of you as possible choose to take part and have your say.

Finally a note about privacy and personal information.  You can complete the survey anonymously if you wish. If you do provide personal information, we will use that information for statistical purposes, for the purposes of tailoring and improving our services and communications to you, and otherwise for the purposes contemplated by our Privacy Policy which has recently been updated.
